TAC Partipation Counts for Student Volunteer Hours

Need volunteer hours? Join WPL’s Teen Advisory Council (TAC).

A portion of each TAC meeting will be used to either run teen programs, learn about the library or help with craft preparation for children’s programs.

In return for your participation in TAC, you will be credited for your volunteer hours as well as joining us for fun activities.

Congratulations to the winners of the Teen Advisory Council’s Cup Art contest.  We had over 30 very creative entries submitted which will soon be on display at the Harper Branch.

Entries for “The Hunger Games” writing contest are still being accepted.  Entries must be original and no longer than 500 words.  Participants must be between the ages of 13 and 18 .

March 5 is Our Hunger Games Evening!

Join us at 6:30pm on Monday, March 5 for a “Hunger Games” evening.

Bring your entries for The Hunger Games Writing Contest writing contest and impress your friends.

Create mini bows and arrows and test your archery skills!

Have some refreshments and a lot of fun!

** The winner of the writing contest will be awarded two passes to the Galaxy Cinema at Conestoga Mall, Waterloo**

Hunger Games Writing Contest!

WPL’s Hunger Games Writing Contest begins January 1, 2012!

Create a new ending or idea based on The Hunger Games. Add  a new character or weapon.  You are only limited by your own creativity.

Entries must be original and no longer than 500 words.  Participants must be between the ages of 13 and 18 .  Email your entry to Karen Wylie at kwylie@wpl.ca by March 1, 2012.

The winner will be announced at Teen Council on March 5th at 6:30pm at the Harper Branch Library, 500 Fischer-Hallman Road North.  The winner will receive 2 (two) movies passes to the Galaxy Cinema at Conestoga Mall and their entry will be posted on the blog and in the spring edition of “Off the Shelf, WPL’s popular newsletter.
